All applicants to this program must be in their final year of medical school or beyond. The State University of New York at Buffalo’s Department of Ophthalmology accepts the application form provided by the Ophthalmology Matching Program’s Central Application Service. All applicants must have an ophthalmology matching program number.
All residents must have satisfactorily completed a post-graduate clinical year (PGY-1) in an accredited program approved by the ACGME, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. All applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of New York.
The selection process is conducted by a committee composed of full-time and part-time faculty, as well as the Chief resident. A personal interview is required. After applications have been reviewed by the screening committee, individuals selected to be interviewed will be notified.
