WNY Vision Quest is an annual fundraiser to support the work of the University at Buffalo’s Ira. G. Ross Eye Institute and Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB).



The FFB is a national non-profit organization on a steadfast mission to fight blindness. Specifically, FFB funds the research that is catalyzing treatments and cures for retinal diseases that affect more than 10 million people in the United States and millions more around the globe. These conditions cause people of all ages, from newborns to retirees, to lose their sight and, in many cases, go completely blind. As most are inherited, these diseases are passed down within families, from generation to generation. Because of the FFB, 75 research studies are funded annually at prominent laboratories worldwide and more than 30 clinical trials are underway or being prepared for launch. A cure is in sight.

The Ira G. Ross Eye Institute Is The Only University-Affiliated Vision Care Practice In Our Region.

Based at the University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, the Ross Eye Institute works with UB students to provide the latest information, education, and insight into new technologies and approaches, giving their patients access to the latest standards and capabilities of eye care. That’s why more than 48,000 patients visit the Ross Eye Institute for their eye care each year. The Ophthalmology Department at the Ross strives to achieve preservation of sight through excellent patient care, education, and research.

Vision Quest is a day-long festival featuring live music, vendors, games and prizes, food and beverage, and a health fair. The event is hosted by Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. in West Seneca, NY.

We invite you to join us as a Vision Quest sponsor and help us speed the pace of research. Your donation will be equally distributed between FFB and Ross Eye Institute, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
